Chakra restaurant review, Little Venice

My Guide To The World
4th Nov 2024

Chakra restaurant is part of a chain, and I recently visited the one in Little Venice (they also have locations in Kensington and Kingston upon Thames). The closest station to the Little Venice location is Warwick Avenue; it's just a 3 minute walk from there.

My dining experience was simply fantastic. We sampled a variety of dishes, starting with poppadoms served with mint sauce and mango chutney. One standout dish was the Calcuttas pani Puri, which were crispy semolina pouches filled with potatoes, served with a little jug of flavored spiced water (there's a picture of me pouring the spiced water into a pouch). These were really spicy but really delicious.

We also tried the Bombay ki Bhel puri which is puffed rice tossed with onions, tomatoes, pomegranate, mint, and tamarind. Pictured above with the spoon, this was a really fresh, lovely dish. The garlic naan was a classic favourite, and the tandoori prawns were thick, juicy, and fragrant - so good and such high quality (in the photos I'm squeezing lime juice over them). The highway chicken curry was a rustic, rich onion gravy dish that was creamy and not too spicy, and a perfect portion size for sharing between two people. The saffron rice we had alongside was equally delicious.

The restaurant itself is quite small and doesn't fit a lot of people, but the quality of the food is brilliant - I really loved it. They offer a wine list and a variety of cocktails to choose from, making it a great spot for a night out.

Chakra, Little Venice, London

It's a really casual restaurant. Not many people were dressed up, so it is absolutely somewhere you could go for a neighbourhood night out or if you just want good Indian food in the middle of the week (or the weekend!). It's not fussy, the prices are great and the quality was just top notch.

Overall, I really enjoyed my dining experience at Chakra and would highly recommend it to others. Plus, the location in Little Venice adds to the charm of the whole experience. The Little Venice and Kensington locations are closed on Mondays, but all three locations offer 20% off their menu prices Sunday - Thursday.
