What's at Westonbirt Arboretum, Tetbury?

We love Westonbirt Arboretum! Whether we're visiting for the walks and trails or the seasonal activities and Christmas Lights, it's fantastic, and I haven't even accounted for the runs I'm planning to take, or the concerts I keep meaning to book yet!

On our recent trip, we took part in The Stick Man trail (approx. 1 mile). Trail bags are available for £4 from the visitor's centre, and contain everything you need to create your own adventure-passport style lanyard. The activities are so nature-play based and wholesome. We created our very own stick-man from twigs, made birds nests, bird-watched, and more! We were lucky with the weather, and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Old Arboretum and seeing the blossoms coming to life.

We also took part in the free "Awakening Woods" arts and crafts activity in the Learning Centre (now ended). There was so much to see and do, for all ages and abilities.

Already completed the resident Stick Man trail? Never fear! During Spring (1 March - 31 May) Westonbirt are running their Family Spring Trail, 'Biodiversity Detectives'. Also available until the 27th May is the "Forest Walkies with Wallace and Gromit" trail (approx 1.7 miles). This trail is dog-focused and features a variety of activities for you to complete with your dog!

With guided walks, exhibitions and activities aplenty, it's always worth checking their website before visiting to see what's on!

One of our favourite walks, which we didn't complete on this visit, takes place in the Silk Wood, accessed via the Treetop Walkway. However, with over 600 acres and 17 miles of hard and grassy paths, you could explore all day!

Take a packed lunch or visit The Pantry (Mon – Sun: 9:30am – 5:00pm. Subject to the weather), The Kitchen Restaurant (Mon - Sun: 9:30am – 4:30pm. Hot food served until 3:00pm) or The Smokehouse (Sat & Sun - 11:30am – 3:00pm. Subject to the weather).

Admission tickets start at £13 (under 5's free, but do need a ticket), or purchase a membership from £30 (up to 4 of your kids free).

Whilst admission and trail packs were gifted on this occasion, the thoughts expressed in my blog are my honest opinion.
