Baboon Adventures at Charlton Park Estate, Malmesbury

We recently had an epic afternoon at Baboon Adventures! We did their electric scooter tour at Charlton Park Estate, Malmesbury. However, they also have a tour at Kinsclere Estate, Hamshire.

Upon arrival, we did the 20 minute safety briefing, before getting comfortable with the controls and having a practice ride. Passengers start at 5 years of age, and Drivers from 12+. As such, my son Joseph (5) was my husband's passenger, and I was my daughter Lily's (14) passenger. Upon arriving, I thought I'd regret my decision to let Lily drive, but they genuinely mean it when they say no experience is required to drive them! The controls are twist and go, and the scooters are sit-on, balanced and safe.

Having familiarised ourselves with the controls, we headed out on our tour. The Charlton Park Estate is beautiful, and the bird spotting is brilliant! We even saw two deers! From private trails to beautiful open Cotswold landscapes, the scenery is surprisingly varied.

Baboon Adventures are a family centred operation; There are chances to get some speed on the open sections- but time is taken through the more technical/bumpy routes- This is not an extreme activity for ultimate daredevils or 'serious quad riders'!

With lots of opportunities for videos and photos (the guides get lots of shots for you, and send them to you afterwards), your memories of the day can live on!

The tour was 90 minutes in total. We couldn't believe how fast the time passed, and the kids would of happily kept going!

Me being me, I spent the entire time pointing out some fantastic birds of prey over Lily's shoulder (who couldn't have cared less, as she was living her best life). We even saw two deer!

This is a fantastic outing for families or for adult groups. The guides tailor the experience based on the touring group and their abilities.

The weight limit per scooter is 17 stone, with a max of 20 stone for 2 people combined. It is recommended that you have 1 adult and 1 child per scooter. The heavier the participants, the slower the scooter will be.

This does require outdoor clothing, but only a few of us chose to get muddy by riding through the puddles... For example, Joe and Joseph did not require carrier bags to sit on for the ride home, as Lily and I did!

Its £47pp for a driver and £18pp for a passenger, with no booking fees. To book, visit BookWhen.
