There is so much more to Cheltenham Racecourse than the Gold Cup (although there is nothing quite like Cheltenham during Gold Cup week!)
I hadn't thought to take the kids to the racecourse, but we were told about the family fun at the April Meeting and had to check it out! With an Easter Trail, face painting, bouncy inflatables, mini golf, and more, there was certainly lots for the kids to do!
However, Joseph's favourite thing was the horses themselves. He fell in love with the Parade Ring and would have happily sat there all day. Being up close to such majestic animals is a real treat. He particularly loved watching them having the water buckets thrown on them as a post-race cool down.
With a child's play area for under 5s, a kid's meal deal for £3.59 (sandwich, fruit shoot, apple, pom bears, Cadburys cream egg) and under 18's getting in for free (when supervised by a parent or adult over 21), this is such a reasonable day out.
Particularly visible were the Accessibility Support Marshals and the Accessibility Viewing Platforms, ensuring everyone could enjoy the fun.
Since getting home last night, Joseph has asked to watch the horse racing on the TV, to 'go again after my birthday,' (next week) - and the winner - to 'move to Cheltenham so I can see the horses more often.'
