I am going to be on the Cake and Bake Show main stage this year, on the 28th November, transforming the viral Dubai chocolate bar into a show stopping cake. The show runs from the 27th November to the 1st December at London's Olympia, and it's not too late to grab your tickets - use my link to apply my promo code. (Obviously try and come on the Thursday!)
What is the Cake and Bake show?
The Cake and Bake Show call themselves the "ultimate baking day out", and they're not wrong. The show is perfect for baking enthusiasts, as there will be a cake competition, celebrity chefs, master classes and lots of exhibitors selling baking equipment and delicious bakes.
It's my first time gracing the main stage at the Cake and Bake show and I am so excited - there's a pretty impressive line up of Guests and Experts appearing and I'm thrilled to be working alongside them.
Alongside me showing you how to create a Dubai Chocolate bar cake, other highlights include "The Showstopper" where Cake Artist Jane Lashbrook will be creating a Wicked! themed cake, and masterclasses such as "Buttercream and Christmas Bento Box" and "Hand-iced Christmas Biscuits".
Also be sure to check out the Competition - if you think you've got what it takes you can choose a theme from either "All things musicals!" or "Gingerbread House". Each theme has a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and there's also a prize for "Best in show". Jane Lashbrook - creating the Showstopper - actually won first place in this competition back in 2016.
What is the viral Dubai chocolate bar? And how is it now a cake?
Earlier this year the world went crazy for a chocolate bar from Dubai which is filled with pistachio cream and flakes of knafeh, a type of filo pastry that you get in baklava. Well, I couldn't go to Dubai to try it so I figured I'd make my own version - but considering I'm all about yummy desserts, I did it as a cake.
My version is a rich chocolate cake, coated in a delicious chocolate ganache, which is mouth watering enough - but when you cut the cake, you get the vivid green strips of pistachio - one of my obsessions. I get my pistachio butter from Amazon; it's super creamy and tasty, just like the rest of the cake.
You can get the rull recipe on my recipe blog, or watch my reel about it on my Insta. And if you're at the Cake and Bake Show on the 28th, do come and say hi!
