Last week was Bristol Comedy Garden which is always a great opportunity to see comedians that you see on TV, so names that you know, and that you know you find funny. It ran from Wednesday to Sunday with evening shows in the week and then shows throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.
We bought tickets in February and the event was in June because it does often sell out so it pays to get booked in quite soon. It’s in a massive bigtop tent in Queen's Square so a really central location and a really summery feeling thing to do! Leave your email address on our Bristol Things to Do page and we'll let you know when tickets go on sale next year.
You can’t take any food or drink in with you and they do search your bags on the way in, but the food trucks were delicious and not crazy expensive. The beer however, was pretty pricey at £6 for a 330ml can. That’s not £6 a pint - that’s £6 pounds for something the size of a can of Coke!
Overall, it’s a lovely annual event in Bristol. This year the line up included Frankie Boyle, Ed Gamble, Sara Pascoe, Sam Campbell, Lucy Beaumont, Alex Horne, Alan Davies, Rosie Jones, Phil Wang and more. You can see why they class themselves as the South West's biggest comedy event!
There are a few car parks around, if you’re not local enough to walk, such as a council car park, The Grove, and the Prince Street mulit-storey (the biggest of these 3). All of these are literally around the edge of the square.
