We've been busy putting together some great (we think!) self-guided walking tours of Bristol and London for film and tv show fans who want to explore these great cities on foot and see the places where their favourite scenes were shot.
Bristol film and tv locations and walking tour
Whether you're a Dr. Who buff or a massive Only Fools and Horses fan, there's something on our suggested walking tour for you. We've also linked to a map of everywhere Sherlock was filmed and a list of all the locations used in Only Fools and Horses so you can explore further afield than just a walk around the centre if you want to seek out any more classic spots.
We've given a Google Maps link to our suggested walk, and it takes fractionally over an hour if you don't stop... although you're going to go past so many cafes and coffee shops we doubt anyone isn't going to want to stop for a cup of tea or a slice of cake. There are also a couple of spots where you can soak up the view, such as Clifton Suspension Bridge and Cabot Tower, both of which are free to enter (you have to pay to drive over the suspension bridge, but it's free for pedestrians). Overall we've tried to make this tour a lovely walk around the centre of Bristol which lets you see some important historical, and/or just generally pretty(!) sites, with the overarching theme that they're all used in tv programmes or films you've probably seen.

London film and tv locations free self guided walking tours
For London, we ended up putting together 2 different tv and film walking tours tours for you to choose from, and these take a lot longer than the Bristol one; they're further to walk, but they also take you past so many attractions that you really might as well check out whilst you're there.
Option one takes you through Kensington Gardens, so you may decide to stray from the route slightly to see the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain, before you go past the Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. You'll also walk past Harrods and Harvey Nicks which might lure you in! Attractions wise, you'll go via the National History Museum which is free to enter, and the Golden Hinde.
Meawhile option 2, which has more references to Marvel films, takes you to Harry Potter's Diagon Alley, which is a lovely Victorian shopping arcade to explore, and past the Victoria Embankment Gardens which are perfect for a picnic.
