If you're looking for a relaxing but decadent, fun but laid back weekend with friends, you can't beat the Cotswolds. Especially if you and your friends are Foodies, like we are!
Our weekend started with a cosy night in infront of the fire in our holiday cottage, and a delicious meal we catered for ourselves. We were sure, of course, to include some delicious wine, and Mucho Más did not disappoint! If you're reading this before the 15th March 2025, be sure to head over to my Insta and enter the competition there to be in with the chance of winning an amazing Mucho Más wine selection.
The next day, we journeyed, and we ate, and it was amazing.
A croissant flavoured "Zero Waste" cocktail by a roaring fire
We had lunch at The Fox at Oddington - an absolutely gorgeous pub restaurant that I can't wait for an opportunity to visit again. Photos of what we ate are in the gallery - I had the fish and chips and I'd definitely give it 10/10. The slabbed floor, roaring fire, bare brick stone walls and rustic wooden furniture give it all the cosy vibes you'd expect in the Cotswolds and makes it a really special escape to the country.
They also - perhaps unexpectedly for a seemingly traditional country pub - have a delicious range of really special cocktails. For the first time ever I had a croissant flavoured cocktail which was very, very nice! It was from their "Zero Waste" range, so it'd be rude not to, right? I did also try to have a martini but unfortunately my fiancé knocked it over - I was gutted!
From The Fox we walked the 35 minute walk to Daylesford Farm.

Famous Cotswolds farm shop: Daylesford Organic
If you've been living under a rock you might not have heard of Daylesford Organic, the high end farm shop. They have everything from fresh produce, meat reared on their own farm, a home / lifestyle shop (I loved everything), and lots of food and drink options. Just in the one location they have a Michelin Green Star dining room, a terrace serving wood fired pizzas, and a bar serving hot and cold drinks and small plates all day and evening. It’s definitely worth a visit - we enjoyed a rather lovely bottle of frizzante whilst we were there.
Final stop: The Bull at Charlbury
The road to our next pub took us past Diddly Squat Farm Shop, which you might recognise as being Jeremy Clarkson's farm shop, but after being to Daylesford we didn't feel the need to stop at another one! Despite them calling themselves "the best farm shop in the world"!
Our final stop of the day was The Bull at Charlbury which is quite frankly, the best pub I've ever been in. We sat under canvas so we were kinda outside, but also toasty thanks to the big patio heater. Again, plenty of rustic wooden furniture, stone walls and a big fireplace. Their kitchen - which is currently being refitted so make sure you check their website to see when they're open again in mid-March - is centered around open fire cooking and the freshest, most local produce.
It was the perfect ending to a very very wholesome weekend in the Cotswolds.
